Saturday's Stumbles #16 - Marathon at the Olympics and Phelps

I tend to watch too much sports whenever I get the chance. That means I kind of balance my movies with some sports regularly. With the Euro 2008 having finished a long time ago, I turned to the Olympics.

And I watched everything they had in Beijing. Well everything if I was near a television. I did miss the fake fireworks and the whole opening ceremony! Call it a hunch...

I'd have to stumble the women's Marathon today. A woman from Romania managed to lead the whole crowd for 20 kilometers with her advance increasing kilometer after kilometer. That's something worth stumbling, but since I can't, I'll just mention it to you.

And I think this was my first Marathon I watched ever. It certainly was interesting.

Since we're stumbling and usually I get more than one item, I'd have to stumble Michael Phelps' last performance. Negatively that is! Well not necessarily him but the judges! It appears that he was helped by the judges to keep the golden medal for himself instead of sharing it with the other fellow Milorad Cavic. While writing these lines I found a video on YouTube in slow motion. Maybe he was first after all. It's just too difficult to say. A whole 0.01s is the difficult part...

Time to Win A Contest - SuperBlog2008

I did win a couple of contests in the past and I certainly plan to win a couple of contests in the future.

This time I will be taking part in a longer contest. And the longer the contest, the bigger the price. PCNews.ro is hosting it and the rules are really simple. You have to send some personal details in, and no, it's not a phishing scheme here. By personal details I mean full name, location and blog(s)! Oh, and write up a post describing the contest while you are at it!

Doing that will not get you an entry and will not win you prizes... yet! You will get a mail with detailed terms and conditions in it for you to accept. When you do accept them you enter the competition.

But the best part is yet to follow. You won't have to wait for a draw to get your price. Nope, it's nothing like the old you-link-to-me-I-give-you-a-prize-maybe kind of thing. It's more complicated than that therefore I can't divulge it. Just go for it and check the terms and conditions for yourself. Should they fit your blog(s) then accept them. 70+ blogs have already joined in.

Yes, I did accept the terms and conditions and I am now in! I'll have to mention another tiny rule. Although you can enter with multiple blogs, a PR2 is required. I had one of those until Master Google decided to slap me. It took it away and never gave it back. I though I wasn't going to be accepted but it appears that if you have a blog older than 3 months you will get accepted. And therefore I am in! I said that already...

Oh and did I mention the prize? I think not! We're talking about a grand prize of 5,000 Euros. Or about $10,000 (In my little world 1 Euro already equals $2)

I'll keep you updated with my progress in the SuperBlog2008 and I'll let you know how I managed to win that big prize!

Summer Blogging

Is it just me or summer blogging tends to be a little more difficult than regular blogging? This is my first summer as a "professional" blogger and my writing here has a slower rate than it used to. It's not that I don't have enough ideas. I don't think I'll get any of that writer's block anytime soon. And it's not that I am tired. I do enough writing elsewhere but I still get enough time for myself.

It's not because I need a vacation although I do need one and I'm actually going on vacation in a couple of days. Funny thing is that I will most likely be blogging from the beach. Well technically speaking I will be blogging from somewhere near the beach since I don't need any sand or salty water inside my laptop.

So what is it then? Am I not going after that million readers anymore? Sure I am! But I need to write in order to get there right? Write!

Oh and I do love the summer no matter how hot it gets. I wouldn't change it for anything. Does that mean that the closer autumn is the more I'll be blogging? Well we'll just have to see about that.

How's your blogging over the summer?
